Buildings & Railway Structures on Rowandale - Canal Section
Canal Lock
The canal basin occupies a central position on this section
of the layout. The canal entrance to the lock is via a tunnel
under the main railway line at the rear of the section.
All of the buildings, railway & canal structures on this
section are built from card with photo quality overlays,
using either kits from Scalescenes, some heavily modified,
or scratch-built using their Texture Sheets. They have
some added internal details and figures, which can be
glimpsed though the windows, especially when the internal
lights are on.
The majority of the windows in the buildings are
etched frets, from Brassmasters, mostly painted
white. The small dinghy & lifebelts are3D printed
from Peedie Models.
The lighting is by small filament bulbs, either the
grain of wheat or the even smaller grain of rice.
They are 12v bulbs run at 9v.
Town Extension
This collection of buildings are on a raised removable module which
is built to cover the exit from the hidden sidings at the rear of the
main town & station section of the layout.
The servo motors for operating the points are also hidden here .
The buildings are a mixture of houses and mill buildings.
